2022: Updated recipient list for SDC Comments
Note submission instructions at the top of this pdf
This is an extensive list. Please send your comments to any and all. Invite your friends over for a letter writing party. Write a letter and gather add-on signatures from your neighbors. Letters at this stage of the game are hugely important. HAVE AT IT!
Individual unique letters are best.
Letter templates that folks can edit are also good.
Sending hard copy is best; also send via email.
Sign-on letters: A. Getting one letter with lots of individual names, sort of like a petition, can work f you get a critical mass (ie, dozens or even 100s of names). B. Sign-on from organizations can be effective, particularly if all the logos are amassed on top; this is good for groups that aren't super close to the issue and don't want to have to study it but trust the source to sign on.
Organizational letters: Individual organizational letters are good, but it may take a few weeks if they have to go through board or committees (Sierra Club, SCC, SMP, SLT, SEC, etc.)
Non-traditional groups with political influence: Getting groups like local chamber, civic groups, firefighters, businesses, elected officials, scientists, authors to write letters or sign on to letters can be very powerful.
